Pete Fusz began his career with the Lou Fusz Soccer Club in 1992 when he joined the club’s first team. Pete earned all-state honors while at Chaminade, and participated in both the Olympic Development Program and the Adidas Elite Soccer Program. Pete continued his soccer career as a Georgetown Hoya. After college, Pete worked his way up to Vice President of the Lou Fusz Automotive Network; while simultaneously donating his time as the President of the Lou Fusz Soccer Club. It is Pete’s mission to teach young athletes the power of a positive attitude and the value of teamwork, which he has seen first hand. Pete has a passion for helping the children of St. Louis get the best experience possible by learning soccer skills, and more importantly life skills, that will help them succeed after the sport.
Don "Pops" Popovic / Co-Founder
Don Popovic, alongside Lou Fusz Jr., started the Lou Fusz Soccer Club in 1992. His incredible soccer career dates back to 1958, when he began playing in Yugoslavia. A decorated European career & a strong passion for the game led him to the United States where he continued on to play for the St. Louis Stars, Kansas City Spurs, Toronto White Eagles, and the Canadian National Team. After retiring in 1974, Don went on to become one of the winningest coaches in the MISL and coached the Toronto Eagles to a Canadian National Soccer League Championship. He continued to successfully coach numerous professional teams and in 2004 was recognized and inducted in to the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame. His experience provides the club with great insight and his efforts as director have directly contributed to the club’s growing success.
