team to take 1st or 2nd in tournaments. He continues his training each day including off days for practice to keep his skills sharp. He’s always willing to help other teams in the club if needed.
Your Coach of the Month is Cal Mckee! Coach McKee was recently involved with three Lou Fusz Soccer teams in the Missouri High School State Cup (winning one gold and two silvers) alongside Coach Mike Lagow. Additionally to finding great success with the 02, 03, and 04 age groups, Cal has also been a wonderful asset to our Blue Star Program, training our elite young players (2008-2010). We appreciate your hard work and dedication, thank you Coach McKee!
This month’s POTM is Ally Moore, Tottleben 05, #1, goalie. Ally is a talented goalie and an outstanding teammate. Ally’s teammates consider her to be a great leader on and off the field. She is constantly encouraging her teammates to do their best while hyping them up for games. Ally is always giving her all and it shows on the field. Congratulations Ally!
Your Coach of the Month is Jim Wipke! The success of the Wipke 04B & 05B teams in fall 2018 is a testament to Jim’s ability to coach, mentor, develop, and lead a team of youth boys. Jim openly promotes team unity both on and off the field, and has a zero tolerance policy for any negativity from the players toward each other. He has developed a welcoming environment where all the boys truly like each other, support each other, and do everything they can to help each other be successful. Congratulations Coach Wipke!
This month’s POTM is Natasha Winkler, Lou Fusz Phillips Premier, #20, defense. Tasha brings a calmness and positive attitude on and off the field. She is a true role model when it comes to our Fusz Philosophy. It doesn’t matter to her if you are on her sidelines or her opponent, she embodies everyone to have fun and work hard in this competitive environment for young athletes.
Coach Klinge has been a grassroots coach at Lou Fusz SC for 8 years. He is currently coaching a U11 boys and a U17 girls team and ensuring that all players feel like a part of his family. His mentality is very fun and upbeat when it comes to practices, but wants to fight hard during games to allow the team to develop and get better. This fall Coach Greg Klinge is paying it forward by spending over 140 hours obtaining the US Soccer C Coaching License. His determination as a coach is beyond outstanding and it shows tremendously.
September’s #POTM goes to Cristian Ibarra-Castro, #10. Our defense, midfield, and forward for Blue Star Carotenuto 08. Christian has a great attitude and work ethic when he steps on the field. He is a versatile player that excels at each position on the field. It is very important for our young player’s development to see the game from all positions. Christian embodies this philosophy and is always willing to help his team wherever he can. He’s also determined in conquering that bicycle kick.
Coach John Vasiloff is our September #COTM. Vasiloff has been coaching his girl’s team since the beginning as an independent team to now as a premier Lou Fusz team. He dedicates all his extra time to inspire his players to grow and succeed into the competitive athletes he knows they are. This is all done for the love of the game.
After being diagnosed with a side lining injury that has kept her off the field since December, Lily has had to redefine, actually, create a new role for herself off the field. She is an incredibly hard worker on the field and has now taken that same tenacity and focus into being a leader off the field. She has been giving pregame pep talks with handpicked quotes that focus on hard work, true team effort, and encouraging her teammates to strive for excellence. Most important, she continues to keep an incredibly positive attitude even through this long, hard process toward recovery. No question she exemplifies the #ReFuszToLose mentality.
Coach Franco is our August #COTM. Franco is the Goalkeeping & Tournament Director for Lou Fusz Soccer and is the coach to teams Carotenuto Red 02, White 02, Blue 02, and Blue Star Carotenuto 08. Even with his strenuous schedule, he will always find time to be there for the players in our club. Franco balances coaching and friendship very well with his players, wanting nothing but for his players to succeed and have fun on and off the field. We all thank you for your dedication to LFSC, Franco!

He is competitive and loves to win, but he also knows how to bond with his players and bring out the best in them.
Teagan Pocius, LFSC Morison Red 07, Goalie

She is not afraid to take risks and help her teammates by pointing out what’s happening on the field. With her remarkable saves, she continues to grow as a goalie and a player.
Coach Brinnon Morrison has two 07 Girls LFSC teams. He not only teaches his teams how to grow as soccer players, but also teaches them the right attitude to have in order to do so.
